Ingredients For Your Hot N Juicy Spicy Sauce
The things you need to make the perfect sauce at home are:
3/4th cup of sugar
½ cup of rice vinegar
1/4th cup of water
1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
1 tablespoon finely ground red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water
½ tablespoon soy sauce or fish sauce
How To Make Your Sauce?
Pour the sugar into a saucepan and add the rice vinegar and water to it. Turn the heat on to a medium high and stir the solution till it boils. Remember to stir it continuously to prevent it from getting burnt.
Add the finely minced garlic and the red pepper to the boiling sugar solution and stir some more. If you feel the color isn’t what you want it to be, you can add the hot sauce to it. You can also add it if you want some chills to run on your tongue. But if you want to also have a sweet taste on your tongue, we would advise you to skip on adding the hot sauce.
Let the sauce mixture bubble for a few minutes till the solution thickens and all the flavors mix perfectly with each other.
While it is boiling, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a tablespoon of cold water. Stir it well to make sure that there are no lumps in it.
Turn the heat up until bubbles start rising up rapidly from the mixture and pour the cornstarch in it. Stir the mixture to make sure that the cornstarch mixes well and no lumps are formed.
Keep the heat up until the mixture thickens and then turn the heat down.
Finally add the soy sauce and a pinch of salt to it and mix it well before turning off the heat.
Let it cool down and store it in an air tight bottle.
Voila! You have your homemade sauce ready! Now, wasn’t that easy?
You can store this sauce for a maximum of two weeks in the freezer and can use it while making stir fries or with dishes that need to have some spicy flavor in it.
